Analyzing White America

  1. J Paul is losing a little bit of his relevancy... look at the crowd... those were all folks who would have thought he was funny in the late 70's or remembered when he made their parents laugh in the early 70's...

  2. Please understand that this clip is 10 years old at the time of this post.

    I tend to view Paul Mooney in the same light that I view Louis Armstrong. You listen to both of them and you think they sound just like everybody else.

    It is only when you realize that they both were the first to create much of what has come to be known as comedy or jazz respectively, that you begin to comprehend their genius and their impact.

    Much of what is accepted as either comedy or jazz is a direct influence from their innovations. Satchmo is gone, but everything everything that Mooney does should be respected as a master class from the master IMHO.
