The most powerful force in the universe is the number zero.
Infinity seems so, well, unlimited.
But going on forever and ever can be quite limiting. And infinity is not so much a number as it is a concept. You cannot press the infinity button on your calculator.
So that leaves us with good old Mr. goose egg to enforce a limitation on the limitless.
